I know, the photo is poor, but could't resist posting it. I saw it while running up the main street. Being dragged by bunch of screaming toddlers, couldn't do more but this. You can see a better picture here.

bargain!
I bought this china in a local charity shop. It says at the bottom:
HEDGEROW
TREND
oven to tableware
J&G Meakin
England
X
I love it so much that I took plenty of pictures. The only thing: food looks horrible on this ivory, floral pattern. So for now I will just look at it...Tuesday, April 26, 2011

no easter!
It was such a relief this year not to have an Easter. No mad cleaning, no washing windows, no baking and no stress with every years nightmare: painting eggs and best basket competition, not to mention the church outfit competition. We felt revolutionary free and ignoring the tradition made us more then happy. There was nothing in the fridge, we went shopping for screws for our new freecycled furniture. We had some fast food lunch and pizza for dinner.
The weather is still far too good to believe it is true...
And Olaf had a chocolate egg.

freecycle treasures
You can get a lot of great stuff on freecycle. So far this is our best hunt ever. This Bialetti Mukka Express is new and never used. The cappuccino is perfect: the milk is frothy, coffee just excellent. We noticed that soy milk works even better. But to get all that you have to be fast. Watch those adds and keep writing e-mails. In Dublin we were giving away, now it is time to receive. And enjoy.

heat - day two
First time in the city today.
We came across a playground, coincidently as we do not have a guide book or map or even a good plan of the area. So straight from shopping mall we land in this park, and we see this:
So we took our shoes off and dived in.
Just to find even more exciting stuff.
But then, when we turned around everything became clear.
Wondering which one was first?

fun of the day
I can't possibly imagine anything that could be more entertaining. It's free and kept them glued to the window for 90 minutes straight. Thanks to Bristol Water!

mother's day
I got a bouquet of young shoots of purple broccoli for Mother's Day.
...and I made a warm salad of it. I enjoyed it immensely.

drivin' the van
Still in the oil theme: I read a book which says we are only three days away from hunger. If trucks go on strike, there will be no food in our supermarkets in just a few days. Why don't we plant our garden now?
