on the edge

Being in between winter and spring, how awful is that? To brighten our moods of we strode through the Botanic Gardens of beautiful city of Lodz. Cheered up a bit inhaling humid air we had bit of that Bali feeling...

Craving for more.

Ganesha's sweet tooth

We love Ganesh and we love this little book. Illustrated by Sanjay Patel inspires and pleases our whole family.

Olaf loves Mr Mouse - Ganesha's best pal.

I love sketches.

Lucy loves sweets.

Florian loves modern reinterpretation of Hindu deities. More here.

Here comes the broken tusk:

Next time I will wash their faces before taking any pictures, fixing that in Picasa takes a lot of time. There's the little fairy with some peanut butter smeared upon her face.

treat of the week

My new culinary guru is Sarah Britton. Her blog is just what every single one of us need or might expect from a food blog. Photos are stunning, food is excellent and most of all it is innovative and healthy. As she puts it, every recipe is life changing, and I agree.
Ti's.
So here goes The Raw Brownie. Far from being healthy the normal option just makes you feel so unwell after. This one is guilt free, hah, it is all good for you. And very simple to make if you have a blender.
I didn't.

So the method is:

2 cups whole walnuts
2 ½ cups dates, pitted (and check for it!)
1 cup raw cacao ( I used half of it as I want the kids to eat it)
1 cup raw unsalted almonds, roughly chopped
¼ tsp. sea salt

Put it all in a blender give it a whizz (except almonds). I soaked my dates beforehand for few hours as they were bit on the dry side. Then combine all, place it in a shallow dish, spread evenly and put in a fridge until it sets. Cut into squares, sprinkle with cacao.
So that's my Valentine dish.

stroll around the house I

As most of you know we bought a little house. I suppose we did it because the name of the street was so pretty - I guess all people are tempted by the street name, right? Even if you are not a royal family like us.

So here it is glamorous as it gets. Have a look around:

That's the front door.

Front garden, still with the porch:

And that's what left of it:

Ready for the inside?

Nah, let's leave it for some other time.

big girl

On Monday Lucy is turning three, but she is celebrating her birthdays for 3 days so far and 2 days to go. I told her it's her party tomorrow and she said "oh mummy again"?

Here she is at the picture with an amazing cake that her grand auntie made and that's the best shot my phone took for weeks. I am almost pleased. Enjoy.
